Friday, March 14, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
What:

Dave Powell will present his most recent Keynote presentation, “Dubai City”.  There is a fantastically huge amount of new construction in Dubai City at this time. "15% of all Tall Cranes in the world are building Dubai City." The information has serious implications for the future of the United Arab Emirates and possibly for the rest of us. For historical and relevant information about Dubai, see these links on this CMoM website: Dubai-URL.html

For a look at what's happening today, see Dave Powell's Keynote presentation! Dave has been able to access such information because of his professional expertise as an aquarium consultant around the world.

Dave will demonstrate how he put this Keynote presentation together including: The criteria for image downloading; adding and adjusting text; text and image transitions; adding music; timing of slides and transitions; and mention downloading and editing YouTube videos using TubeSock and QT Pro.

As David says, “PowerPoint sucks although the new Microsoft Office 2008 PowerPoint has copied a number of features from Keynote and is better than before.  For “Keynote Support”, visit http://www.apple.com/support/keynote/

CMoM bus to MacWorld Expo & meeting upon return

Presenter:
Vendors at Moscone Center
When:
Friday, January 18 , 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
What:

Club Mac will again sponsor a “field trip” to the Mac World Expo in San Francisco on Friday, January 18th. In order to reserve a bus we need to have all the signups and money in hand by the end of the our December meeting.

Given the cost of gas and parking in SF, the price of $35 for club members and $45 for guests is quite reasonable. If you are not currently a member and would like to participate this would be a good time to join (membership is only $20 for the year).

We will leave from the Pacific Grove Adult School at 8 am and be back by 6 pm. As usual, our January CMoM general meeting at 7 pm that evening will include pizza and beverages for the travelers and members attending the meeting. We will then share what we saw and learned in San Francisco.

Let us know that you want to go. Be certain we have your payment by December (no pay: no seat). Send your check to Club Mac of Monterey at P.O. Box 2107, Monterey, CA 93942 or bring your money to the December 14th meeting.

Please make you reservations early for the 24-passenger bus by email to our MacWorld bus chairman, Jerry Gifford, CMoMAmb@mac.com (Please use "Macworld Bus" in the subject line.)

The cost will be no more than $35 for CMoM members and $45 for non-members. (We should have the final cost after the Dec CMoM meeting. )
